Queenstown Information
Queenstown – it’s the self-proclaimed Adventure Capital of the World and an alpine village quite unlike anywhere else on the planet. Visitors have even dubbed it a ‘natural theme park’, and it’s easy to see why.
Queenstown combines all four of nature’s elements to provide leisure and luxury in one single small town.
EARTH - AIR - FIRE - WATER

EARTH
Get down to earth here by:
- walking, tramping and trekking
- mountain biking
- rock climbing & mountaineering
- visiting a winery
Adventure tourism is Queenstown’s staple industry; take the plunge and try one of these adventure activities.
- bungy jumping
- skydiving
- hot air ballooning
- heli-skiing mission

FIRE
Cosy up next to a warm wood fire in one of the many stone-laden pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants with a mulled wine or soak in a hot spa while enjoying the surprising warmth of this winter region – and that includes the small-town hospitality.
WATER
It’s all about the H20. When temperatures drop, water turns to snow and ice, so hit the ski slopes or ice rink. If adventure tourism is not for you, take a cruise on the deep glacial lake that is Lake Wakatipu, or try a spot of trout fishing. Leisure is the key word in Queenstown, so just take your time.
